Kjeldsens butter cookies are baked since 1933 in Denmark according to the traditional Danish classic recipe.

Marinus Kjeldsen began selling his cookies to neighboring villages, where the wonderful buttery treats soon caught on and spread throughout the country and not only.

Over the years the cookies were appreciated also outside Denmark and in the 60’s they were introduced in Asia, entering Hong Kong market first and then Chinese mainland market.

A Danish Story

“By Appointment To The Royal Danish Court”

The Story of Kjeldsens started in 1933, when Marinus & Anna Kjeldsen started a small family bakery in Central Jutland, in the very heart of Denmark, then named Kjeldsens & Co. Over the years, Anna and Marinus turned their family business into a modern factory, located in Nørre Snede.

In 2009, Kjeldsens Butter Cookies was appointed as purveyor to the Royal Danish Court by the Queen of Denmark, Margrethe II. Each tin, therefore, proudly displays the words, “By Appointment To The Royal Danish Court” with a golden crown in its logo, symbolizing the brand’s authenticity, quality and status. The Royal Warrant is deeply valued by our employees, and bonds us together in the mission of delivering high quality Danish Butter Cookies to the world.
